Draw With Precision, Not Guesswork

BasicCAD's sketch tools give you lines, arcs, circles, ellipses, rectangles, polygons, splines, and slots. But the real power is what happens after you draw: constraints and dimensions lock your geometry into an exact, repeatable definition.

Add a horizontal constraint and that line stays horizontal forever. Set a dimension to 24.5 mm and it's exactly 24.5 mm — not "approximately 25, snapped to the nearest grid point." When you change a driving dimension, the entire sketch recalculates instantly, and every downstream feature updates with it.

This is what separates parametric CAD from visual modeling tools like TinkerCAD: your geometry is defined by relationships, not positions.

From Sketch to Solid in One Click

Once your sketch is constrained, one operation turns it into a 3D solid:

• Extrude — push a profile into a solid by a fixed distance, symmetrically, or up to a face
• Revolve — spin a profile around an axis to create shafts, flanges, and turned parts
• Loft — interpolate smoothly through multiple cross-section profiles
• Sweep — move a profile along a path for pipes, channels, and custom extrusions

Every operation uses the same sketch as input. Change the sketch dimension and the 3D solid updates — no rebuilding, no re-drawing, no starting over.
